The Courage to Meet your TRUE Self – 7 Day Residential Retreat
with Krisana & Mazen

Why am I so scared to be myself?

As part of society, we live with a false sense of identity. We are moulded into a particular mental structure by social conditioning since our childhood. The society has a strategy to condemn you for who you are but they encourage you to be like someone else. Can you relate to that?

In subtle and not so subtle ways we are told and misinformed that our natural energy and our natural instincts are wrong. If we probe deeper into our lives, we will find everything is borrowed including the identity that we are carrying.

What are your priorities in life? What are your real needs?

To be connected to our true self (our essence), is to know what are my needs from moment to moment.
Needs can be fulfilled, but desires cannot be. Needs are simple, they come from nature; desires are very complex and created by the mind.
Needs are moment to moment, they are created out of life itself. Desires are not moment to moment, they are not created by life itself, they are projected by the mind into the future.
Desires are projections, they are not really needs. This is the first thing to be understood.
What is desire? A movement of the mind into the future.
Needs are simple and belongs to this moment. They can be fulfilled. You feel hungry and you eat; you feel thirsty and you drink; you feel sleepy, you go to bed. But desires are not like that.
You desire to be famous. It is not a need, it is an ambition, it is an ego projection into the future. Or you desire to seek an enlightened blissful state — that too is in the future.

Needs are bodily, always here and now — they are existential. Desires are never here and now — they are non-existential. They are mental, in the mind. And they cannot be fulfilled because they are moving always into the future.

Everybody is full of desires and nobody’s needs are fulfilled. That which can be fulfilled is neglected and that which cannot be fulfilled is being fed. This brings misery and frustration.

As Social Beings we have an indispensable and primal need to connect with others, but also to be connected to oneself. Therefore, it is fundamental to find a balance between aloneness and connecting with others.

Our true self is buried deep beneath a false sense of belongingness. The real self is there and it needs to be rediscovered by moving away from the outside and going in to the land of aloneness. There is a misconception that being alone means being lonely. No one wants to be lonely in this world. Loneliness means one is in need of the other, it is a negative state where the other is missed and you start searching and seeking the other.
The lonely person is a beggar, his heart is a begging bowl.
The ‘alone’ person is an emperor.
Aloneness means a sense of completeness, contended when one is utterly rooted, centered in oneself. In aloneness, one is whole, part of this existence, the other is not needed at all. When two people are alone they can relate beautifully – it becomes a communion. Aloneness is a door to enter to your innermost core.

Meditation facilitates silence and aloneness so that existence can provide us a glimpse of our real self.

This retreat you will be guided to bring light and awareness to the way you value your true self and to identify obstacles and defences patterns that prevent you from being in touch/contact with your own qualities, your individuality (authentic self) and the path purpose of your life you are on.

Discover to stay in touch and feel safe in your body, your own worth and qualities. Supported with group process work and awareness exercise structures, meditations active and passive, breathwork and different therapeutic approaches to take us to explore the roots of conditioning.

Investigating and self experiencing will free us from the burden of the unnecessary judgements and stuck energy we carry inside ourselves. We relearn the loving and accepting way to be connected with our Self, the authentic way to relate with oneself and relate with others and life.

Rather than being obsessed with the destination one can learn to enjoy the journey with companions and kindred spirits. A time to be thankful and to express and receive love that we celebrate the fact that we endure, survive, thrive and grow with the support of  chosen others.

You are welcome to join us in the warmth and light of deep winter and hearthfire.
